It is with great pride that I welcome you to the 2008 football season.  As I begin my eleventh season as Head Coach of the Hawks, I would like to acknowledge the tremendous accomplishments of this senior class.

 

 For the first time in the history of Laguna Hills High School, we have won three straight league championships.  This senior class has been a major part of this success.  They have achieved this in no small part to their outstanding character, their tremendous work ethic, and their outstanding leadership abilities.  As a group, they have done all that the coaching staff has asked them to do, they have done all that their teachers have required them to do, and they have conducted themselves in a manner that is a great source of pride to the Hawk football family and to the community that is Laguna Hills.  It is very exciting for me to work with these young men and I am looking forward to what they can accomplish this year.

 

 I certainly cannot entertain the full measure of the leadership of Hawk Football without a great deal of assistance.  I would first like to thank our new Principal, Sean Boulton, for his support for all our athletic teams.  I would also like to thank the rest of the administration team for all their support of our football program.  I would especially like to acknowledge the great efforts of our Athletic Director, Steve Bresnahan and his superb leadership.  I would also like to thank Steve Newman and Cutting Edge for the great efforts and dedication to preparing our Hawks for this season.  I would like to extend many thanks and much appreciation to Mike Quigley for his leadership of the Football Boosters and his Herculean efforts on our behalf and   for organizing our Special Olympic Volunteer project which has been a great success the past two years.  Kathy Emma has also given many hours of unselfish time in producing a great program for 2008 Hawk Football and that is much appreciated by us all.  Many thanks to Tom Finley for his great work with our web site and in keeping all of our supporters well informed.  I’d like to offer my sincere appreciation to Monika Naillon for the countless hours she has spent keeping everyone up to date, informed and organized.  To Barb Maccabe for all her efforts in putting together an amazing banquet each year and to Vince and Susie Giovinazzo for opening their home for Golden Hawks and for the many other jobs that Susie performs on behalf of Hawk Football.  We are very fortunate indeed to have so many people willing to give so much to this program and to insure that our players have every opportunity to succeed and perform to their capabilities and beyond.  And finally, I would like to thank the hardest working coaching staff outside of Beijing, China for their efforts, dedication and friendship.
