 Varsity is 8-0 now! Great job Hawks

This coming week, we are the COX game of the Week on Channel 3-yes that's
the 5th time this season! Check out www.ocnow.com/cox3/gotw for details.

Senior starter Matt DeGrassi  had surgery this past Thursday,  which
revealed a torn meniscus and luckily no ACL damage. However, he will require
a leg brace for 30 days and will not be able to participate in sports for 3
months.  He will be missed on the O-line!  Boosters wishes him a speedy

VOLUNTEERS -another busy week for so many great Hawk parents:

Golden Hawks:   Vince and Susie Giovinazzo  graciously hosted this past
week's meeting.

Team Dinner:   the McCraney and Helmuth families served up a delicious
Mexican buffet this past week for the hungry Varsity boys. The players also
enjoyed cookies that the Cheerleaders made.

Family Picture Day:  Jan Helmuth organized all the Varsity players and their
families for this photo opportunity.  

Tailgating:  the Refsnyders secured a nice tailgating spot for us, despite
the crowded parking situation. Billy Martin brought incredible crab stuffed
 and wins the prize for best appetizer this week!  

Chain Gang: Mike Quigley, Tom Wertenberger and Rick Young once again did a
great job helping the refs.  

Program Sales: Dexi Fujii  and Dyan Magnuson headed up the sales of our
great programs (have you noticed how nice the quality is compared to the
ones that our opponents sell?) Kudos to Kathy Emma!

Photographers:  Jim Rusher, Heather Browning,  Kathy Emma and Bill Wood work
the sidelines to capture so many of great shots you see in the program.

50/50:  Michelle Marino and Stacy Benda sold lots of raffle tickets this

Snack Bar: O'Toole Vorsheck and Dawn Molt led their super volunteers (and
sold all the Chick-Fil-A sandwiches!)-Bob & Liz Evans, Jane Solorano, Wendy
Salera, Julia DeClark, Irene & Gary Murphy, John & Paula Mackey, and Betsy

Pizza Store:  Karen McCraney organized the after game pizza for the winning

Coaches Dinner: the Martindale family was the  generous sponsor of the
coaches dinner this week.

Coaches Lunch:   Sheila Ludwig and Dave McCullough delivered a delicious
meal to the hardworking coaches on Saturday.

Varsity Team Dinner-5:30 on Wednesday, November 5th at the Bonutto home
hosted by the Bonutto, Hogan and Mohr families. All players who suit up for
the Varsity game are encouraged to come enjoy a great meal with their team

League play continues!!! Games this week versus Irvine! 

Frosh:  Thursday, November 6th @ 3:15 @ Irvine High School

JV:  Friday, November 7th @ 3:15 @ LHHS

Varsity:  Thursday, November 6th @ 7:00 @ Irvine High School  ---- Good luck
to our Varsity players as they seek to secure their perfect season with this
final league game. (They have a bye on the 14th) (Note: Due to the school
night game,  there will not be any Boosters sponsored tailgating before the
game and there will not be a Boosters sponsored Pizza Store event after the

Football Social -Friday, November 7th @ 7:00- All football parents are
invited to attend this FREE event--come enjoy finger foods, a glass of wine
and nice conversations with other Hawk parents  and coaches at this relaxing
social.  The Giovinazzos will be hosting this fun evening at their home and
there will be a very small silent auction for bidding on "official" LHHS
player signed memorabilia (all levels-frosh, JV, Varsity and Senior), as

Boosters Meeting is Wednesday, November 19th -- @ 7:00 at the Quigley home.
