After winning the toss the JV Hawks elected to kick off in this Friday afternoon contest at Beckman HS. Beckman's special teams received the kick and could have run it back for the score were it not for a saving tackle by Schlack at the Hawk 30. The Hawks initial double pass play fell incomplete to Valenstein. From there on it was the ground attack. Vorsheck made runs of 12,6,20,10,15,2 and 1 for the Touch Down. Beckman continued forward but fumbled on the goal line and Schlack again came up with the ball. Beckman traded series with the Hawks for the remainder of the half each going 4 and out to run the clock out. At the half the score was tied 7-7.

On the initial Hawk drive of the 4th period a reverse to Moore caught the Beckman defense flat footed and set up first and 10 at the Beckman 17. Vorsheck again pushed forward with runs of 5,2 and 5 yards setting up first and goal at the 5 yard line. With all eyes on Vorsheck Spain faked the hand off and ran to the corner for the score. Makin was solid as always on the point after .Beckman 7 Hawks 14. After the kick off Beckman started their drive from their own 12 yard line. Solid defense by the Hawks forced the punt. The Hawks had the ball on their own 42 yard line with the clock approaching 3 mins to go. Another Vorsheck run moved the chains. First and 10 at the Beckman 28. Spain handed off to Jeffs but a well executed strip by the Beckman defense turned the ball over. Beckman started their drive on their own 35 with 2.31 to go. Completions and converted 4th downs saw them move the ball to the Hawk 10 yard line with a minute on the clock . An attempted completion to the corner was intercepted by Helmuth to kill the threat.
