Varsity is 10-0 now! First round CIF champs!
We now advance to the second round of CIF against Santiago High School of
CIF brackets and updates are available@ www.cifss.org. LHHS is in the
Congrats Matt Giovinazzo who was selected as the OC Register Scholar-Athlete
of the Week!
VOLUNTEERS -thank you to these great parents:
Team Dinner: Football Boosters treated our CIF Varsity team to an
all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta and salad buffet at BJ's Restaurant. The
players thought it was great and the manager was impressed by the huge
quantities the guys consumed! The players also enjoyed cookies that the
Tailgating: the Refsnyders set up another great tailgating party which was
VERY well attended and had an amazing 'spread'! Everyone definitely stepped
it up a notch for CIF!
Chain Gang: Mike Quigley, Jerry Denham and Rick Young once again did a great
job helping the refs.
Program Sales: Dyan Magnuson and Wendi Weaver headed up the sales of our
full color program this week.
Photographers: Jim Rusher, Heather Browning, Kathy Emma and Bill Wood once
again captured all the action on the field.
50/50: Michelle Marino sold raffle tickets to the CIF crowd this week!
Snack Bar: O'Toole Vorsheck and Dawn Molt led their dedicated volunteers
Linda Dahl, Carrie Tendler, Kathryn Downs, Chuck & Donna Runyon, Debbie
Wiehe, Sherrie Sprecher, Sharon Runyon, John & Paula Mackey, Marina Ramirez,
Nena De La Torre, Betsy Moore, John Vorsheck, Tracy Rabe and Angela Spain.
Pizza Store: Karen McCraney organized the after game pizza for our first
round champion Hawks.
Coaches Dinner: Kathy Emma and Bill Wood were the generous sponsor of the
coaches' dinner this week.
Coaches Lunch: Nancy Martindale delivered a delicious meal to the
hardworking coaches on Saturday.
Frosh Banquet -Tuesday November 25th from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Pizza Store.
Parents and Siblings of players are invited to attend. Attendance is
mandatory for all frosh players and coaches.
Varsity Team Breakfast-will be provided by Boosters on Thursday, November
27th at school after the morning practice (time TBA)---Yes, this is
Thanksgiving morning, but what would Thanksgiving Day be without a little
CIF championship play continues on Friday November 28th!!! The Second Round
game this week is versus Santiago of Garden Grove! The game will definitely
be 'away', however the specific field location and time have not been
announced. Game time will be either 7:00 or 7:30. Additional details will
be emailed as soon as they become available.
The Varsity/JV Banquet --Monday, December 15th from 6:00-9:00 at the
Community Center. Outback dinner provided by Boosters for the players and
coaches, family members pay $5 at the door.
Looking forward to another great CIF game!!!
